![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Your character will hack, shoot, drive, and spellcast their way to success, and they should always remember to shoot straight, conserve ammo, never trust an elf, and never, ever cut a deal with a dragon. Shadowrun invites you to take the role of a shadowrunner, an independent operative in a dystopian future who does whatever it takes to stay alive and not sell out to the megacorporations. What they don’t have is you-your brains, your guts, and your willingness to put everything on the line. The other side has more people, more firepower, more money, more everything. Buying a Rigger Control Console (RCC) and attaching it to their toughest vehicle / drone is another idea. The odds are against you. Otherwise they're less riggers than they are matrix-mages with drones and matrix-spirits. I have a player interested in playing an ai riggerįor this specifically, you may want to allow them to purchase the Mind Over Machine (rating 1) echo during chargen. How do you manage Grid Overwatch on an AI?(yeah he prolly won't be doing anything that would give os but in the instance) Rest, but conflating the tests for First Aid and and Repair Matrix Damage isn't a terrible start. The same way you would normally shoot anything that exists only on the matrix - through the matrix. Resonance : Device Rating (no change here) (this would preclude using the Living Persona stats) If you change nothing else, then trading physical attributes for matrix attributes can be done in a fairly straightforward manner. There will be issues to patch over in your own way(s).Ĭurrently, the simplest and closest analogue to digital intelligent lifeforms would be Technomancers. If that's not an option or you don't want to wait, I'd attempt to reign the following in to whatever standards apply. Just as a heads up I 100% agree that creating an AI should wait until Run Faster is released. Between this an the charisma hacking mechanic, it keeps all his standard attributes relevant without any being an obvious dump stat. It works pretty well since the player isn't as familiar with how the matrix works an the character as an AI would do things more intuitively than by writing code. He basically tells the GM he wants to do something and the GM rolls and gives him an approximation of what he wants. He can do something similar to technomancer's threading. To dump his overwatch score, he has to reboot his home node, which means he is stuck outside in the Matrix waiting for a bit, so this can be dangerous for him. He pays his lifestyle cost every month to keep up with the wear and tear on his home node.Īs far a Grid Overwatch, he is susceptible to it. This character is a rigger as well, and he was originally designed as an AI to operate a drone doctor, so he has a humanoid body when he isn't flying around the Matrix (he visualizes putting marks on something as slapping a bandaid on it). He spent a while last game just standing outside on the street talking to automated semi trucks that drove by. I don't know exactly what rules my GM has worked out, but I think he uses Hacking+Charisma to do this. When he is hacking a system or device, he essentially just talks to it. He essentially functions as a Matrix face. I was really worried but it has been working out great. We recently a a new player (both to our group an SR in general) start playing as a houseruled AI. "Watch your back, shoot straight, conserve ammo, and never, ever, cut a deal with a dragon." Living Community (Where you can play online) Subreddits For that please check out /r/ShadowrunReturns for help. Sadly our nova hot community isn't the best place to discuss the mechanics discussion or troubleshooting the video games. Mostly the pen and paper role playing game, but also the deck building card game, video games, and literature of Shadowrun. Discussion is primarily aimed at exploring narratives found in the Sixth World. Here at /r/Shadowrun we talk shop about all things in the shadows. ![]()
